LEWISTON – Irene L. Demers, 84, resident of Schooner Estates, Auburn passed away after a long illness on Saturday, Nov. 6, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born on May 5, 1920, in Berlin, N.H., the daughter of Alphonse and Marie (Morin) Lessard. She graduated from Berlin High in 1939.

She moved to Connecticut in 1951, retiring form AVCO Textron in 1983. She moved back to Maine in 1999.

She was a member of D.A.V. Auxiliary, 4 Senior Club, AARP, life-member of Heartbeat, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved to line dance and play cards.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Arthur Demers, of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her parents, a son, Ronald, three brothers, Leo, Roland, and Gerard, and a sister, Muriel.
