FARMINGTON – SAD 9 directors are scheduled to hear a plan Tuesday for a Mallett School parking lot agreement between the school and the university.

The plan will be presented during a regular school board meeting at 7 p.m. at the Mt. Blue High School library by Roger Spear, vice president for administration/human resources at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The parking lot is behind Mallett School, off Middle Street, SAD 9 Assistant Superintendent Sue Pratt said.

The plan includes some improvements to the lot, she said.

Directors will also receive an update and hear a request from Shelley Dean, one of many parents working to build athletic fields at the Mt. Blue Middle School.

By Oct. 1, $26,000 had been raised of the estimated $85,000 needed to make fields for soccer, field hockey, softball and baseball.

That includes funds from the school construction project, businesses and private donations. Additionally, Kevin Vining, a Farmington contractor, has donated time, material and equipment to the project.

There will also be a school report card presentation for kindergarten through grade six.
