RUMFORD – The annual Christmas in the Valley Craft Fair, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Mountain Valley High School, will feature 56 crafters.

At the craft fair again this year will be the popular cookie walk and a silent auction, with proceeds going to Mountain Valley and Dirigo high school scholarship funds. The Kid’s Corner will be run by the National Honor Society of Mountain Valley High.

This year’s kitchen will be stocked and run by the Rumford/River Valley Relay for Life committee, with all the kitchen proceeds going to Relay for Life. On the menu this year will be a hot turkey sandwich plate with fixings, chili, hot dogs, and homemade apple pie for dessert.

Santa, along with Mr. and Mrs. Frosty, will be arriving at 11 a.m. at the Kid’s Corner and will be there until 1 p.m. Children of all ages will be able to talk with Santa and have their pictures taken with him for a nominal fee.

The Chamber of Commerce is gathering names of volunteers who want to work on the parade for next year. Interested people may call the Chamber office and leave their names and telephone numbers with Anita, and she will put them in the folder for next year.

The Christmas in the Valley sweatshirts are back. People may pick them up at the Chamber office at 60 Lowell St. or at the craft fair. The sweatshirts are red and have the “Christmas in the Valley” logo embroidered on them. They cost $23 for small through extra-large sizes, $25 for extra-extra-large.
