BETHEL – A new, two-story commercial building will soon occupy one of the last buildable lots along Main Street.

The Bethel Planning Board on Wednesday approved the structure, which was designed by architect Jim Reuter for Edward and Mary Joe Kennett of Kennett Realty.

“I think it will be a wonderful addition to Main Street,” Planning Board Chairman Al Cressy said. “It fits very nicely.”

The Kennetts could not be reached for comment.

Cressy added that there are only one or two buildable lots along Main Street, so new buildings there are a rarity.

In other business, the board continued review of plans for the Will View, Mountain Brook Estates and Paradise Pines subdivisions.

The Planning Board will not meet again in November, Cressy said. Instead, members will meet on the first and third Wednesdays in December.
