LEWISTON – Yvonne St. Laurent, 89, a resident of Montello Manor, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a brief illness, with her family at her side.

She was born in Lac Megantic, P.Q., Canada, on Feb. 1, 1915, the daughter of Alphonse and Azilda (Bolduc) Grenier. She was a resident of Lewiston for 76 years.

On Aug. 17, 1940, she married Leo St. Laurent and he died on March 11, 2002. They resided at 9 Tucker St. for 41 years, before moving to Odd Fellows Residential Care Center in February of 1999. They were members of SS. Peter and Paul Church.

She was employed at the Bates Mill for 40 years. She enjoyed her family and had many talents.

She is survived by two sons, Gerard St. Laurent and his wife, Judith, and Conrad St. Laurent and his wife, Doris, both of Lewiston; three granddaughters, Theresa Rodrigue and her husband, Jay, of Lewiston, Claire St. Laurent, of California, and Tom Ertel, of Indiana, and Ann Footer and her husband, Rodney, of Lewiston; two grandsons, Daniel St. Laurent, of Lisbon and Nathan Francis and his wife, Christine, of Lewiston; six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Kimball, Christopher and Alicia Footer, Nicole Rodrigue and Connor Francis, all of Lewiston; one sister, Simonne Marchand, of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Carmen St. Laurent on May 14, 1964, seven sisters, Sister Rose Grenier Corrine Grenier, Annette Lachance, Aldina Bernier, Sister Alphonsine Grenier, Sister Laura Grenier and Juliette Roy, all of Canada, Melanie Cote and Leonie Forgue, of Lewiston and two brothers, Lucien and Adrien Grenier.

She will be sadly missed by all her family and her many friends.
