JAY – A Jay man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of gross sexual assault allegedly involving a young girl.

Tony DeMillo, 31, posted $500 cash bail the same day he was charged. He has a Farmington court date of Dec. 29.

The victim is under the age of 8, said Police Chief Larry White Sr., and “The repeated assaults occurred many times over the past year.”

The victim was an acquaintance of DeMillo’s, the chief said.

“Tony DeMillo has only been charged with one count of gross sexual assault,” White said, “More charges may be forthcoming after the District Attorney’s Office reviews the case.”

Jay officer Roderick Small conducted an investigation after an acquaintance of the girl’s family reported the alleged sexual assault, White said.
