JAY – Bean’s Corner Baptist Church, at its 6 p.m. service Sunday, Nov. 21, will hold a special Thanksgiving musical service featuring pianist and composer Barbara Smith of Orono.

Smith, who has composed and played original music for three CDs, will play for congregational singing and share some of her compositions. Two of her CDs are based on her love of Acadia National Park, and the third on her memories growing up on a southern Maine farm.

The public is welcome to the service, the Rev. Roger Nauss said.

This past Sunday, Nov. 14, the church held a “town appreciation day” to honor Jay municipal employees during the morning worship hour. Nauss presented Town Manager Ruth Marden with a check to be used for a benevolent cause as determined by town officials.
