PARIS – Oxford County commissioners received an update Thursday on a legal appeal filed by former Budget Committee member Christopher Wainwright.

Wainwright was removed from the committee after the commissioners decided his employment as a sergeant with the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department posed a conflict of interest.

The update was handled in executive session.

County administrative assistant Carole Mahoney said the commissioners did not take any action after speaking with their attorney over speakerphone.

The case has been moved to U.S District Court at the request of the county’s attorney.
