LEWISTON – Beryl Arlene Berry Hayden, 78, of Old Lewiston Road, North Monmouth, died, Monday, Nov. 22.

She was born in Mexico, on Aug. 25, 1926, the daughter of Adoniram and Marion Riggs Berry.

She graduated from Mexico High School in 1943 and Fisher Junior College.

She married Francis Hayden on July 3, 1947, in Hartford. He predeceased her on April 29, 2001.

She worked for 24 years in the office at Albany Felt (Tex Tech) in North Monmouth, and was a member of Winthrop Alliance Church. She and her husband owned Hayden Ice Cream on Route 202 in North Monmouth from 1960 to 1969.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Bruce and Beth Hayden, of Otisfield, Mark and Cathy Hayden, of North Monmouth, and Erin and Jim Baxter, of Wells; 11 grandchildren, Wanda (Hayden) O’Donnell, Tina (Hayden) Borgeson, Jerry Hayden, Jeremy Hayden, Jonathan Hayden, Nanci Emery, Christopher Baxter, Adam Baxter, Rebekah Baxter, Heather Hayden, Heidi Hayden; six great-grandchildren, Mahala Hayden, Hayden and Ryan Borgeson, Alex and Meagan Emery, Abigail O’Donnell, Elizabeth Baxter and Brett Hayden; her siblings, Marilyn Rumley, Charles Berry, Lois Hathaway, Susan Novrus, Arlene Nason and Kathleen Berry; and a sister-in-law, Catherine (Pratt) Hayden.
