I am an 82-year-old mother and grandmother, devoted to my family, my church, my community and my country. My vote for the Democratic candidate was dictated by my conscience and by my own moral values.

I have read with great interest all the letters for and against Mr. Rex Rhoades’ point of view, and am responding to a recent letter written by Valentina Primm (Nov. 20).

She states, in part, that right-wingers are committed to bringing moral values and decency back to the United States of America. I would like to respectfully ask two questions of her and others who share her position: First, how and by whom are these moral values to be defined? And second, in what way should they be enforced, taking into account the diversity of our population and our avowed pledge to ensure liberty and justice to all our citizens?
