LEWISTON – Roland P. Kirouac, 81 formerly of 72 Shawmut Street passed away peacefully in his sleep early Monday, Nov. 29, at Montello Manor.
He was born in Brunswick, July 5, 1923, the son of Albert and Ida Morin Kirouac. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Carmen R. Girardin Kirouac who passed away Oct. 8, 1999. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, 194th Co. from Jan. 19, 1943, until March 14, 1946. He was retired from Bates Mill after 42 years. He was a parishioner of Ss. Peter & Paul Church and he and his wife enjoyed attending the Festival de Joie annually and vacationing at Old Orchard Beach.
He is survived by a son, Roland P. Kirouac, Jr. of Norway; daughters, Pauline Crocker and husband, Richard of Lewiston, Jacqueline Caron and husband, Victor of Auburn and Rita Kirouac of Biddeford; two grandchildren, Beverly Boudreau and Katherine Bolduc and husband, Tim; a great granddaughter, Chloe Rose Bolduc; three sisters, Dorothy Lessard and husband, Ernest of Lewiston, Constance Morin and husband, Aime of Old Orchard and Gloria Chaloux and husband, Normand of Sabattus; one brother, Marcel Kirouac of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Kevin Morin and two brothers, Paul and Raymond.
