AUGUSTA – Hilda Kate Fletcher, 89, formerly of the Inn at City Hall, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch, Augusta.

Born at Sandy Point, April 16, 1915, the daughter of Winfred and Lillian Bridges Lufkin, she was a graduate of Crosby High School in Belfast.

She married Clifton Fletcher in July of 1933. They were married nearly 50 years, before his death on Aug. 20, 1983.

She was employed for 10 years in the office at Commonwealth Shoe and Leather Comp. in Gardiner.

She is survived by seven children, Clifton Fletcher and his wife, Jean, of Manchester, Ronald Fletcher and his wife, Glenda, of Manchester, Judy Sargent and her husband, Larry, of Poland, Edson Fletcher and his wife, Barbara, of Scarborough, Hilda Brann and her husband, Dick, of West Gardiner, Michael Fletcher and his wife, Elaine, of Yarmouth, and Cheryl Conley and her husband, Dick, of Portland; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
