CANTON – Whitney Lodge No. 167 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons will be performing the Master Masons degree at its stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. This meeting will be preceded by a casserole supper at 6:30 p.m. All Master Masons are welcome.

Snow’ dance

RUMFORD – The snowmobile clubs of Carthage, Peru, Dixfield, Mexico and Rumford will hold their annual Think Snow dance to help raise funds to keep the trails in good shape. The dance will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Eagles Hall. Music will be provided by the Travelers. There will be numerous raffles. Tickets are $16 per couple and $9 for individuals. Members and guests are welcome. Santa Sunday

NEWRY – The fourth annual Santa Sunday will be held Dec. 5 at Sunday River ski resort. Participants don a full Santa costume and donate a minimum of $10 toward the Bethel Rotary Club’s annual drive to purchase Christmas gifts for needy children. In return, they receive free skiing and riding for that day and two additional lift tickets valid until Dec. 17. Preregistration is required.

To register, go to www.sundayriver.com. The annual Santa Ball is at the Phoenix House and Well across from the South Ridge Base Lodge. Music will be provided by Named by Strangers. Those in Santa costume receive free admission. Doors open at 9 a.m.

Memorial service

RUMFORD – The Elks Lodge No. 862 will honor deceased members at a memorial service at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, in the lodge room. There will be a continental breakfast served after the ceremony. Any family member of an Elk who is deceased is welcome to attend the service. Those who need a ride or have questions may contact Sandee Welch at 364-2548 or the lodge at 364-4022.
