LIVERMORE FALLS – Local planners approved one site plan Wednesday night and delayed action on the expansion of a trailer park until the Jan. 5 meeting.

Given approval, pending a copy of her seller’s certificate, was a plan presented by Mickie Pullen of 13 Strickland Loop, to operate Mick’s This & That Shoppe. She will be selling woolen knitted items, soap, candles and small wooden items from a remodeled 280-square-foot woodshed on the property formerly owned by Calvin Smith.

Rick and Leola Webster of Chesterville, who own L & R. Mobile Home Park on Route 17, want to add a fifth mobile home on adjacent property they plan to purchase from Jean and Sue Castonguay next month. They will combine the two lots and build a road to the newer portion so they can place a home on it for his mother.

One abutter has raised some concerns about the plan, but since neither he nor the applicant was present, no decision will be made until next month.

Planners are concerned about the safety of families who are living in campers and would like to address the issue with some type of regulation. Code Enforcement Officer Brenda Medcoff says at least two such campers are being occupied, one with an addition containing a wood stove.

Such campers have only one exit and are not hooked up to either water or sewer.

In addition to regulations for campers, the planners are discussing a building notification ordinance that would apply to all lots in town. They are also considering items in the Comprehensive Plan that need their attention and are hoping to find a way to address legal access to back lots.

Medcoff reported that Alice Englehardt is continuing work on her site plan for a day care center, which the board approved at the Nov. 3 meeting, pending state/federal permits.

She also said the proposed Chinese restaurant, also approved last month pending permits, is still working on the site on Depot Street.
