LEWISTON – Mayor Lionel Guay and Lewiston city officials were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony at the construction site of Emergency Vehicles of Maine (EVM) new facility in the Foss Business Park on Foss Road.

The project, financed by Androscoggin Bank and built by Ernest A. Ray and Associates, consists of a 17,508-square-foot Murox building that will be leased to EVM.

The facility will allow greater manufacturing volume and efficiency.

When the company moves into the new facility from Broad Street in Auburn, they plan to add a minimum of four new employees.

Since 1996, EVM has fabricated, refurbished and performed upgrades on fire apparatus throughout the Northeast.

They manufacture and service a variety of emergency vehicles and apparatus including pumpers, tankers, and support vehicles.
