NORWAY – Herbert Watson, 83, of Norway, died Thursday, Dec. 2, at his home.

He was born in North Fryeburg on May 8, 1921, the son of Harold and Agnes Davis Watson.

He attended schools in Fryeburg and Norway.

He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He worked for the town of Norway, George F. Hill and Ripley and Fletcher. In 1960, he went to work at Harold Motors, he retired after 26 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at Winslow Park and Fryeburg Fair, snowmobiling, and dancing.

He married Dorothy Merrill on Feb. 21, 1941.

He is survived by his wife of Norway; two daughters, Linda Skinner and her husband, Bruce, and Vernita Thomas and her husband, Randy, all of Norway; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Robert; twin gradsons; and four brothers, Ernest, Wilfred, Harvey, and Merle.
