NORWAY – Jessie McKellick Fairbanks, 84, of Norway, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, surrounded by her children and grandsons.

She was born in Andover July 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Alton and Edith Morton Brooks. She was one of three daughters.

She was married in 1940 to Ernest McKellick. They lived in Rumford and Mt. Dora, Fla. until his death in 1976. She moved to Bethel in 1979 to be near family.

In 1983 she married Mervin “Buster” Fairbanks of Dixfield.

Her life revolved around her family. She was known by her family and friends for her sense of humor, generosity and warm smile. Her positive attitude never wavered, even under the worst of times. She was loved by all.

She was a loyal Red Sox fan and never missed watching a game on TV.

She is survived by two children, a daughter, Judy Kersey and her husband, Tim, of Bethel and The Villages, Fla., and a son, Alton McKellick and his wife, Nancy, of South Paris; a sister, Alta Sturgis of South Portland; three grandsons, Tim Kersey and his wife, Tracy, of Norman, Okla., Sean Kersey and his wife, Michelle, of West Lebanon, N.H., and David Kersey and his wife, Lisa, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a granddaughter, Darcy McKellick of Windham; six great-grandchildren, Tiffany Sinclair, 16, Jonathan Merchant, 10, Todd McKellick, 6, Matthew, 9, Kirsten, 7, Noah, 4, and Ashley Kersey, 2.

She was predeceased by a sister, Margurite Brooks; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Kersey.
