LEWISTON – Marion Marcus Rivet, 85, of Frost Hill Avenue, Lisbon Falls, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 8, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston.

She was born in Boston, Mass., April 25, 1919, the daughter of Christopher and Anna Allie Marcus. She was educated in Rhode Island and Massachusetts schools. She graduated in 1936 from Lawrence High School, Lawrence, Mass.

On Nov. 10, 1938, she married Albert E. Rivet, who died on July 27, 1992.

She worked at Cowan Mill in Lewiston, the Farnsworth Mill in Lisbon Center, and later retired from the Juliet Mills in Lisbon Falls.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon. She was a life member of the Left Hand Club, Woman’s Auxiliary of Lisbon. She also belonged to the Lisbon Senior Citizens, Horizons 55, Covenant 50 of Lewiston, and the Lisbon Senior Citizens Bingo Club.

Among her interests were knitting, crocheting and playing bingo.

Her greatest pleasure in life, however, was the time she spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, and will be remembered as a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She will be remembered for her wonderful smile, quiet and strong personality, and her famous peanut butter fudge.

She is survived by a son, Edward A. Rivet Sr. and his wife, Brenda, of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Debra and her husband, Bucky Jewett, of Poland, Wayne Rivet and his wife, Susan, of Bridgton, Jeffrey Bussiere and his wife, Lisa, of Lewiston, David Rivet and his wife, Maria, of Lewiston, and Edward Rivet Jr. of Lewiston.

She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Brenda-Leigh Cheeseman and her husband, Shane, Melissa, Joshua, Kimberley, Nathan, Matthew, Alex Rivet, and Tristen Bussiere; a stepbrother, Lionel Bernier, of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Anna Bernier, of Lewiston; her father, Christopher Marcus, of Chelsea, Mass.; her daughter, Shirley A. Bussiere of Lisbon Falls; a great-grandson, Stephen Rivet; two sisters, Blanche Brightman, of Salem, N.H., and Doris Halde of Pawtucket, R.I..

The family wishes to thank the Lisbon Falls Police Department and Lisbon Emergency Personnel for their service, and also a thank you to the nursing staff and physicians at St. Mary’s General Hospital.
