LEWISTON – Edward R. Ruby, 83, of Lisbon Falls, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 8, at Marshwood Health Care Facility with his wife at his side.

He was born in Lisbon Falls, April 12, 1921, a son of John P. and Mary (Lemish) Ruby Sr.

He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On May 3, 1947, he married the former Lucille M. Reed.

He was a proud Veteran of the Military, having served in the Marine Corps during World War II.

He worked 32 years at US Gypsum until his retirement and was a member of Holy Trinity Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snowshoeing, hunting, fishing and gardening, as well as woodworking.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Lucille M. Ruby, of Lisbon Falls; two brothers, Emile Ruby and his wife, Carol, of Florida, and Joseph Ruby, of Massachusetts; and four sisters, Margaret Gamache of Poland, Gertrude Hammond of Lisbon, Helen Barrett and her husband, William, of Lisbon Falls, and Madelyn Huston and her husband, Carl, also of Lisbon Falls.

He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
