At Lewiston Middle School we are very fortunate to have a Civil Rights Team.
The mission of the Civil Rights Team is that all students and staff at LMS be free of discrimination including threats, taunts, and violence.
Each year the team creates two 30-foot bulletin boards in the cafeteria to promote peace and equity. We also create a performance for the Pride Assembly to encourage tolerance. This year the team hopes to have a presentation for elementary age students. They also are working on a project which will impact the whole student body at LMS. Several team members will attend the statewide training in Augusta, Nov. 15. The team itself is diverse in nature, but all are committed to working together for the good of all.
Our advisers are: Ms. Sherry Smith, Mrs. Shayna Malyata, Mrs. Beth Woodhead and Mrs. Dee Marken.
Members of the Civil Rights Team are: Doug Landone, Hanna Ahmed, Shawn McKeown, Christina Zahn, Lindsey Carr, Delilah Dickey, Megan Whipple, Deb Stuart, Athena Andoniades, Tim Stretton, Tess Craig, Luke Jenson, Suzzane Assam, Daniel Taylor and Andrew Tracy
