SABATTUS – Janice Faye Champagne, 56, a resident of Brook Sreet, died Tuesday Dec. 14, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center Lewiston after a brief illness, with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 3, 1948, the daughter of the late John A. and Dorothy Varney Hesketh. She was educated in the grammar schools of Auburn and was a graduate of Edward Little High School. On Feb. 3, 1968, she married Raymond G. Champagne, Sr. in Auburn, who died Dec. 22, 1990.

She was employed for many years as a med. tech. at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. She was very family oriented, focusing all her personal time around family events and occasions. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Shopping trips, outings with her girls and their families, and special times spent with her son was what mattered most to her.

She looked forward with great anticipation to family celebrations, holidays, and summertime lobster bakes. She loved going to the ocean with her children and grandchildren, having had many happy outings with them to Pine Point, near Old Orchard.

She was a very compassionate person, being at her best when caring for others. She will be deeply missed by her patients on 4-west and the life long friends she made at d’Youville.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy R., and her husband, Jeremy Randall of Auburn, Lorrie F., and her husband, Bruce Cabral of Greene; one son Raymond G.
