NEW YORK (AP) – The Boston Red Sox lineup card from Game 4 of the 2004 World Series brought a site-record bid of $165,000 on MLB.com.
A collection of World Series championship memorabilia went on sale Dec. 7 on MLB.com, the official Web site of Major League Baseball. The bidding for the lineup card, which ended Wednesday night, was a record for a game-used and autographed item. The bidder was not identified.
Other Red Sox memorabilia included a game-issued World Series base signed by series MVP Manny Ramirez, an ALCS base signed by series MVP David Ortiz, and baseballs and bases from all four World Series games against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Also auctioned were framed World Series locker name plates of Derek Lowe, Trot Nixon and Keith Foulke, and commemorative home plates from Games 2 and 3 of the World Series that were used for first pitch ceremonies.
