JAY – Selectmen will hear a plan today on a municipal airport proposal.
The board will also be asked to place an item on the April annual town meeting referendum warrant to allocate money for Area Youth Sports.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Community Building.
A public hearing on the General Assistance Ordinance will also be held.
The ordinance is reviewed by selectmen annually and updated, as the state requires.
Bill Calden of Jay plans to present a proposal for an airport and some possible locations, Town Manager Ruth Marden said.
Jason Daigle, a representative of Area Youth Sports, plans to request a town donation for the multi-town youth sports program, Marden said. AYS plans to approach towns that have kids participating in the program for some funding. AYS is seeking $10,000, she said.
Also on the agenda is consideration of a municipal policy on smoking that includes town-owned vehicles, a Building Committee recommendation on a new town office, and Adelphia negotiations.
