JAY – The Jay Recycling Facility and Transfer Station will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, and and Saturday, Dec. 25. Friday’s trash will be collected Monday, Dec. 27. The recycling collection will take place Friday, Jan. 7.

The Recycling Facility will be open extended hours the week after Christmas. The hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, through Thursday, Dec. 30.

Residents are reminded to recycle their Christmas paper. Bows and ribbons need to be removed and thrown away with the trash, and the special foil Christmas paper also needs to be discarded with the trash.

The facility will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 31, and Saturday, Jan. 1. Friday’s trash will be collected Monday, Jan. 3, and the recycling collection will be on Friday, Jan. 7.

Special winter hours for Saturdays will also be observed again this year. From Jan. 15 to Feb. 26, Saturday hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon. The Recycling Facility will also be open the regular hours Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The hours of operation will be posted on the town’s Web site as well as on the Recycling Facility’s answering machine.
