SABATTUS – Irene T. DeRocco, 58, of Sabattus, passed away at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Dec. 21, following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, on April 10, 1946, to Leonel LaCroix and Marie Ange LaCasse. She attended Sabattus schools and received her GED from Oak Hill High School and graduated with her daughter, Tammy, in 1986. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, and teaching them how to cook.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph DeRocco, of Sabattus; daughters, Amy Lauze of Auburn, Tammy Carpenter and her husband, John, of Litchfield, Penny LaCasse and her husband, Shane, of Turner, and Marcel Jr. and his wife, Adrienne, of Sabattus; sisters, Anita Iler and her husband, Joseph, of Portage, Carmen Mitchell and her husband, Bruce, of Norway; and a brother, Leonel “Junior” LaCroix and his wife, Lorraine, of Lewiston. Also, the pride and joys of her life; grandchildren, Samuel, Abigail, Zachary, Lars, Sarah, Amber, Gabriel and Noah.

She was predeceased by a brother, Larry.
