BANGOR – Tyler Martin netted an unassisted tie-breaking goal at 1:28 into overtime to lift St. Dom’s over Bangor 3-2 in hockey action Tuesday evening.

Nick Stalford scored off a pass from Ryan Guerin in the first period, while Jon Rutt converted a pass into a goal from Matt Manson and Mike Carpenter in the second period for the Saints (2-0). Carpenter, Manson, and Guerin had solid games defensively.

Bangor (2-1) tied the game both periods with an unassisted goal from Matt Bermer in the first and TJ Zaniseine from Dylan Oborn in the second.

Basketball

Mt. Blue 59, Gardiner 45

FARMINGTON – Ted Neil drained a game-high 26 points to lead Mt. Blue to a 59-45 victory over Gardiner in a KVAC boys’ basketball matchup Tuesday.

Steve Wells chipped in for the Cougars (2-0) with 11 points.

Sean McNally led the Tigers (0-2) with a 19-point performance, the only player to reach double digits. Mt. Blue held a 30-26 advantage at the half, then put the game away with a strong 22-point fourth quarter.

MCI 47, Oak Hill 29

WALES – Marty Quint poured in 21 points Tuesday evening to propel MCI to a 47-29 rout over Oak Hill in boys’ basketball action.

Marty’s brother, Victor, chipped in for the Huskies (1-3) with seven points. MCI stepped out to a 26-10 lead at the half and cruised home to the win.

Mike Eaton led the Raiders (0-4) with a nine-point performance, while Lee Reynolds added eight. Oak Hill outscored MCI 13-7 in the third quarter, but the damage had already been done.
