LEWISTON – The United Baptist Church, 250 Main St., will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight worship service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. The service will be preceded by a 30-minute pipe organ concert by Robert Caldwell. All are welcome.

Christmas concert

LEWISTON – Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, 62 Strawberry Ave., will have a Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, including selections from a cantata, “More Than a Manger.” There will be other Christmas songs and a singalong with refreshments to follow.

The program will conclude with a candlelighting and the singing of “Silent Night.” All are welcome.

VFW supper

LISBON – VFW Post 9459 and Auxiliary will hold a New Year’s Eve supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at the post home, Route 196. A dance will follow. Cost is $10 a person. Anyone wanting more information or to reserve a ticket should call 353-5291.

No shows

LEWISTON – There will be no Peek A Boo Puppet show on Jan. 12 and 13. People should watch for the show in February or call 782-1112.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 20 were: N/S, first, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver; second, Paul Beegel and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Claire Tewhey and Charles Bartlett; second in B, Barbara Beegel and Allie Boyer.

E/W, first, Richard Allen and Don Johnson; second, Ron Reynolds and Joe Conley; third, Alberta Turner and Helen Little; first in B, Renette and Joe Reinhardt.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays, a mini-lesson is given, and a partner is guaranteed Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 783-1734 for more information.

The quarterly club championship will be played on Monday, Dec. 27.

An eight-week beginner bridge class is being offered at the Multi-Purpose Center from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, Jan. 24. Call 784-2926, the Senior Citizen Office, for registration. The class is open to the public.
