LEWISTON – A Lewiston woman was injured Sunday afternoon when her car struck a utility pole on Pine Street.

Police say that Jill Polley, 29, swerved off the road and hit the pole just before 4 p.m. She was removed from the vehicle and taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with possible fractures. Her 1994 Dodge Caravan was totaled. Lewiston police said they don’t know why Polley swerved off the road. They said they don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors.

The pole remained intact and power was not affected.
