CANTON – Dorothy Louise Merrow, 76, of Jay, died Sunday, Dec. 19, at Victorian Villa, in Canton.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1928 in Wilton, a twin daughter of Percy and Mable Tilton.

She was educated in Wilton schools and married Verne Merrow in 1948.

Most of her adult life was spent in Jay, and she worked for G.H. Bass and Androscoggin Home Health.

She will long be remembered by friends and family for her generosity and compassion.

Favorite activities included sewing, fine crochet work and flower gardening.

In addition to her husband, Verne Merrow of Jay, she is survived by daughters, Linda Smith of Jay and her son, Michael MacMahan, Loretta Wentworth of Rockport and her daughters, Julie Dutille and Lisa Holmes, Sheryl Glover of Greensboro, N.C. and her children, Kelly Scotto di Carlo, Ryan Glover and Lindsy Glover, Nancy Merrow and her children, Alison Fiser, Peter Luthy, and Kurt Luthy; twin sister, Doris Cersosimo, of Wilton; sisters, Hazel Towle of Farmington, Shirley Thompson of Wilton; and brother, Raymond Tilton of Wilton.

She is predeceased by brothers, Wesley Tilton and Percy Tilton Jr.
