LEWISTON – Fernande J. Masselli, 67, of Sabattus, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving children.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1937. She was born and raised in Lewiston. She was of Catholic faith and attended church in the chapel at the convent in Sabattus.
“Fern,” as she liked to be called, lived life to the fullest. She was happiest when in the presence of family and friends, of which she had many.
Cooking and entertaining were her passions, followed by crafting. Everyone close to Fern had something hand-made by her. She knitted mittens and hats for the underprivileged. She also loved cross-stitching, rubber stamping and playing cards.
Prior to her retirement in August of 1999, Fern worked at Rite Aid delivering medicine, and before that at Saunder’s Florist delivering flowers.
After her retirement, she enjoyed taking trips, especially to Florida to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved companion, Kenneth E. Foisy; her five children, Debra Clarke and her husband, Peter, Carol Roy and her husband, Marcel, Sheila Masselli and her fianc, Raymond Booth, Lisa Bussiere and her husband, Jeff, Tony Masselli and his wife, Lisa; her nine grandchildren, Tatum and Shelby Reynolds, Pvt. 1st Class, Nicole Roy, U.S. Army, Jennifer Dupuis and her husband, Rory, Jason Wilcox and his wife, Leyla, Danielle Cyr, Tristan Bussiere, Bret and Alex Masselli; and her two great-grandchildren, Hailey Champaign and Jackson Wilcox.
She is predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Josephine Vachon; and her siblings, Fleurette, Theresa, Monique, Charlotte, Paulette and Harold.
