AUBURN – Earl B. Turner went to his heavenly rest the morning of Sunday, Jan. 2, at Clover Manor Nursing Home, Auburn, where he had been a resident since July of 2004.

He was born Aug. 5, 1954, in Exeter, N.H., the son of Earl F. Turner and Florence Clark Turner. He was a long-time Maine resident, moving to Hartford with his family more than 35 years ago.

His early school years were in New Hampshire and Buckfield, but in 2000 he proudly earned his high school diploma from Edward Little High School, in Auburn. Prior to living at Clover Manor, he made his home for nine years at the John F. Murphy Home, on Hotel Road, in Auburn.

He had two important hobbies, weather watching, and stamp collecting. He was also keenly interested in current events and history, and when physically able, he enjoyed writing poems and short stories.

He leaves behind many friends from over the years including the staff, at Clover Manor; his former residents, and staff, at the John F. Murphy Home; David Wilbur, of Oxford; Lou Breton, of Oxford; Greg Bessey, of Buckfield; The Rev. Eva K. Thompson, of the Buckfield Community Church; and numerous others.

Besides his parents, of Buckfield, he leaves a brother, Bruce R. Turner, and his wife Penny, of Exeter, N.H.; a sister, Ann T. Rose, of Overland Park, Kan.; a niece, Cheryl, and husband David Elwell, of Worchester, Mass.; a nephew, Brian L. Turner, of Richmond, Va.; and a nephew, Paul T. Rose, of Overland Park, Kan.; a grandniece, Hannah Elwell, of Worcester, Mass.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
