• A tire-slashing spree was reported by several residents from Dec. 29 through Jan. 4 on York and Cumberland streets and Lochness Road, but police believe the criminal mischief incidents all occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29. Four vehicles, one of which included a SAD 43 bus parked at Rumford Elementary School, sustained damaged tires.

• Jan. 1 – A Kerr Street resident reported seeing two juveniles playing with a lighter inside a shed in the Virginia section of Rumford. There were no damages.

• Jan. 1 – A resident reported the theft last weekend of his 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier from Jack’s Place on Rumford Avenue. The car was recovered by Mexico police after it was wrecked on Highland Terrace, sustaining an estimated $1,000 damage.

• Dec. 31, 10:35 a.m. – Linda Cameron, 33, of Rumford, suffered minor injuries when the 1999 Ford Explorer she was driving on South Rumford Road rolled over due to slippery road conditions. Cameron was taken by family members to Rumford Hospital for treatment. It was unknown how much damage her car sustained, but it was towed by Roland’s Automotive.

• Dec. 29, 1:30 p.m. – A Department of Human Services employee reported an incident of unlawful sexual contact between an adult and a juvenile in Rumford. Detective Sgt. Stacy Carter is investigating the complaint.

Arrests

All of the following are to be arraigned Feb. 1 in Rumford District Court:

• Paul I. Pratt, 45, of Mexico, on charges of operating under the influence, third offense, and operating beyond license restrictions, at 11 p.m. Dec. 1 on Route 2. He was released on $700 unsecured bail.

• Christopher Dougherty, 23, of Rumford Center, on a charge of operating after suspension, at 4 a.m. Jan. 1 on Andover Road. He was released on $400 cash bail.

• Harold Reeve, 28, of Rumford, on charges of domestic assault and obstructing the report of a crime, at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 1 on Cumberland Street. He was released on $400 unsecured bail.

• Lucas Dalton, 24, of Mexico, on a charge of disorderly conduct, at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 1 on Lincoln Avenue. He was taken to Oxford County jail.

• David A. Berry, 38, of Andover, was arrested by Maine Warden Sgt. Rick Mills, on a charge of driving to endanger, at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 30 on Route 5. He was released on $150 secured bail.

• Ronald W. Harding, 41, of Rumford, on a charge of domestic terrorizing with a knife, at 12:05 a.m. Dec. 29 on Falmouth Street. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

Summonses

All of the following are to be arraigned Feb. 1 in Rumford District Court:

• Dustin Yankowsky, 18, of Vassalboro, on a charge of possession of marijuana, Jan. 2 on Rumford Avenue.

• Tasia Dayon, 22, of Rumford, on a charge of operating after suspension, Dec. 31 on Falmouth Street.
