AUBURN – Isabel Kathleen Price Chicoine, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 29. Waiting for her on the other side was her devoted husband Rene J. Chicoine Sr., who passed away April 19, 2004.

Isabel was born in Buckfield, May 15, 1921. She grew up during the great depression in the Hackett Mills area of Poland. She attended Edward Little High School before marrying Rene J. Chicoine on Nov. 3, 1938. She lived in Auburn the rest of her life, except during the beautiful summer months, which were spent at their home on Sebago Lake, in North Windham.

She was a homemaker, wife and mother most of her life. She devoted her life to her husband and children. She had a generous and loving spirit, and always made herself available to her loved ones. In her later years, she loved and cared for her Briard dogs, Bobby, and Ranger. Isabel loved tending her flower gardens behind her home on Main Street, where she lived for 60 years. She was employed for a time at Holiday Inn in Auburn, later joining her husband, Rene, in his furniture business.

Isabel loved to entertain. She was an exceptional cook. Hers was the home where friends and relatives loved to gather, especially for wonderful holiday meals and summertime fun at the lake.

She had been ill for several years, and though her family and friends will deeply miss her, it’s been a long good-bye. She is now at rest and at peace and with loved ones who passed before. We love you, Belle, and miss you always.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her five children: Carol Ann Begin, and husband Derwood, of Canton, Ohio, Nancy Dolan, and husband, Michael, of Ottawa, Canada, Sharon Wise, of Winthrop, Rene J. Chicoine Jr., and wife, Rosie, of Auburn and Rangeley, and Kenneth P. Chicoine, and wife, Louise, of Lewiston. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Dr. Ronald Chicoine of Lewiston, Wendy Poutre, of Stratham N.H., Jeff Chicoine of Lewiston, Nancy Scruggs of Auburn, Karen Edwards and Darlene Begin of Canton, Ohio, Lisa Baker of Florida, Christopher Chicoine of Newton, Mass., David Chicoine of Portland, Dawn Wise, of Turner, Holly-Wise Copland of Auburn, Jay Wise of Westbrook, Natalie Dolan of Ottawa, Canada, Sean Dolan of Burnaui, British Columbia, Canada, and Patrick Dolan of Tokyo, Japan. She also leaves behind her 21 great-grandchildren, Alex, Ben & Molly Chicoine, of Lewiston, Calvin, Elliot, & Forest Chicoine, of Lewiston, Chase & Griffin of Strattom, NH., Jennifer, Tiffany & Michael, of Auburn, Meggie Wise, of Turner, Zachary, and Victoria Wise-Copland, of Auburn, Quentin Wise, of Gorham, Quinn Chicoine, of Newton, Mass., Matthew, and Rachel Edwards, of Canton, Ohio; Ammon, Christian, Joseph, and Miranda Baker, of Port St. John, Florida, and Gabriel, and Michael Dolan, of Ottawa, Canada.

Also waiting for her on the other side with her husband, are her eldest son, Ronald J. Chicoine who passed away in 1941; her parents, Lila and Frank Price; her beloved sister, Ruth Townes; and loving brother, Robert Price.
