OTTAWA, CANADA – Brother Ronald Galarneau, OP, 59, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, in Ottawa.
He was born in Lewiston, on July 5, 1945, the son of Roger and Graciosa Beaulieu Galarneau.
He entered the Dominican Order, making his vows of profession March 14, 1967. He was assigned multiple duties at various convents, notably in Quebec City, Trois-Rivieres, Sudbury, Ontario, and Fall River, Mass. He was assigned for most years at the Saint Jean-Baptiste convent of Ottawa, as trustee and reception supervisor.
Besides his religious family he is survived by a sister, Denise Foss, and her husband Brian; two brothers, Richard Galarneau, and his wife Ann, and twin brother, Donald Galarneau, and his wife Joan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear friend, Clermont Michaud, of St. George, P.Q.
He was predeceased by his parents; his stepmother, Yvette Galarneau; a niece, Dorothy Galarneau; and a grandnephew, Joshua Galarneau.
