HARRISON – Vesta M. Ray Couch Allen, 66, of Harrison, died Thursday, Jan. 6.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 8, 1938, the daughter of Walter S. and Lena A. (Roak) Ray.

She graduated from Deering High School in 1956 and had worked as a manager of fast food restaurants.

In her younger years, she coached softball for the Town of Harrison for over 10 years. She was active with volunteering for the Child Evangelism of Western Maine for over 35 years, volunteered at Lake Region Television for 10 years, worked on the WCBB Channel 10 Great T.V. Auction for 20 years, receiving the Family volunteer award in 1989, and assisted residents of Deerfield village for many years.

She would do anything for anybody. She was proud of her multiple gallon donor status for donating blood over the years.

She was a charter member of the Bridgton Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and was an active member of the Webb Mills Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Kennith M. Couch Jr. and his wife, Marilla, of Rumford, and William Allen and his wife, Clara, of Harrison; one daughter, Suzie Baisley and her husband, Tommy, of South Paris; three brothers, Walter Ray Jr. of Portland, Winfield Ray of Tacoma, Wash., and Edgar Ray of Stratford, Va.; two sisters, Mary Parent of South Paris, and Iva Kinney of Pembroke; nine grandchildren, Katrina Couch of Lewiston, Mara Couch of Prosperity, S.C., Karolyne, Marcus and Kymberly Couch all of Rumford, and Jessica Morgan, William, Christa and Stephen Allen all of Harrison.

She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Daniel Erwin Ray; her first husband, Kennith M. Couch Sr.; and her second husband, William H. Allen Jr.
