LEWISTON – Annette D. Howaniec, 75, of 21 Boston Ave., Lewiston, died peacefully on Jan. 6, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side.
Born in Lewiston, on March 28, 1929, she was the daughter of Alfred and Helen Ouellette Rousseau.
A graduate of St. Dominic’s High School, she was employed for many years in the Purchasing Department of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was a kind and passionate woman who loved her family, Boston sports teams and discussing politics. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and was a wonderful Mimi to her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s Parish.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John P. Howaniec, of Lewiston, with whom she recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; three sons, Jim Howaniec of Lewiston, Tom Howaniec and wife, Barbara, of New Gloucester, and Dan Howaniec of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Samantha Howaniec of Lewiston, and Jack Howaniec of New Gloucester; a brother, Raymond Rousseau and wife, Diana, of Pittsfield, Mass.; a sister, Jeannine Rousseau Blais and husband, Albert, of Lewiston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Alfred Rousseau; her mother, Helen Ouellette Rousseau; and her step-mother, Leda Philippon Rousseau.
