DIXFIELD – Selectmen are to face a lengthy agenda at their meeting at 4:30 p.m. tonight in the community room at Ludden Memorial Library.
The board may discuss a possible police department reorganization or merger between Dixfield and Mexico under old business.
Dixfield is to host a more involved meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Dirigo High School to examine possibilities of consolidating police and other municipal services between the two towns. Peru and Roxbury have also expressed interest in joining the talks.
New business topics for Monday’s meeting include discussions on junkyard permits, overweight vehicles on posted roads, sewer repairs on Hall Hill, e-mail communications on town business between town officials and town employees, and concealed weapons permits.
Additional items include a hazard mitigation plan, handicapped parking, a warrant review regarding release of checks, and union negotiations.
Old business topics include grants and loans for municipal water system work, a proposed road ordinance overhaul, Public Access Channel coverage of selectmen meetings, and setting a timeline for 2005-06 budget review.
An executive session is planned to discuss a personnel issue pursuant to section Title 1, Chapter 13, Section 405(6)(A) of the state Freedom of Access law.
