FALMOUTH – A panel of experts will discuss the potential for growing a biodiesel industry in Maine as local demand for biodiesel products increases.
Peter Arnold of the Chewonki Foundation, Joel Glatz of Frontier Energy and Norm Gridley of Acadia Environmental Technology will speak from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth. The panel discussion, sponsored by Frontier Energy and open to the public, is the first in a series of sustainable business breakfast programs produced by Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility.
L.L. Bean was an early adopter of biodiesel in Maine and has used the fuel for the past 18 months. Other current users include the Audubon Expedition Institute, Chewonki Foundation, and the University of Maine Gorham campus.
People may register for the panel discussion by calling 338-8908. Registration is $10 for MEBSR members and $15 for nonmembers.
