MINNEAPOLIS – Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers rallied in the fourth quarter while he rested for a 105-96 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Kevin Garnett had 23 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the Timberwolves, who led by as many as 16 points late in the second quarter.
Chucky Atkins had 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Chris Mihm scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Lakers.
A running jumper at the third-quarter buzzer by Atkins cut Minnesota’s lead to 76-67, and Bryant – who had played every minute up to that point – began the fourth on the bench.
The Lakers went on a 24-7 run without him that included five 3-pointers.
Blazers 109, 76ers 100
PHILADELPHIA – Nick Van Exel made a team-record eight 3-pointers and scored a season-high 28 points, and Damon Stoudamire added 22 to help the Portland Trail Blazers snap a four-game losing streak with a 109-100 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Zach Randolph scored 18 points and Ruben Patterson had 13 for the Trail Blazers, who won for only the second time in their last eight games. Portland made a season-high 14 3-pointers on 26 attempts, with Stoudamire adding five. Sebastian Telfair sank the other.
Van Exel scored 15 points on five 3-pointers during the third quarter when Portland took a 26-point lead. Van Exel had scored in double digits in only two of the last five games, but shot 10-for-19 from the floor against the Sixers.
Bulls 94, Warriors 85
CHICAGO – Othella Harrington scored a season-high 20 points and Kirk Hinrich had 14 points and nine assists to lead the Chicago Bulls over the slumping Golden State Warriors, 94-85 Monday night.
Tyson Chandler scored 13 points and had eight rebounds for the Bulls, who have won four straight. They improved to 5-1 in January and have won 10 of 13.
The Warriors have lost six straight since Jason Richardson sprained his left ankle in practice on Dec. 31.
Mike Dunleavy put the Warriors up 50-49 on two free throws, then Hinrich and the Bulls broke the game open with a 25-8 run.
Bulls 94, Warriors 85

Tyson Chandler made two free throws, giving Chicago a 74-58 lead with 5:30 left in the third quarter.
Late in the third quarter, Adrian Griffin made a nice pass to Eric Piatkowski who finished with a layup and extended Chicago’s lead to 84-63, their largest of the game.
The Bulls scored a season-high 35 points in the third quarter and held the Warriors to 16.7 percent shooting. Curry added 12 points and Duhon scored 10 for the Bulls.
Speedy Claxton had a three-point play and Troy Murphy hit a 3 to get the Warriors to 89-83 with 1:47 left, but that’s the closest they got.
Claxton led the Warriors with 24 points and eight assists and Dunleavy had 19 points.
Antonio Davis missed the game with a sore right hip and Harrington started in his place. He scored 14 points in the first half on 6-of-8 shooting. Curry added 12 points for Chicago and led 49-48 at halftime. Claxton scored 12 points for Golden State in the first half and Clifford Robinson scored 10 points.
Robinson finished with 14 points.
Notes: The Bulls were called for eight fouls in the first four minutes in the third quarter. … The Warriors were 8-of-16 from the free throw line in the first half. … Ben Gordon scored seven points in only 10 minutes.
