PARIS – An Oxford man with a long history of motor vehicle convictions was sentenced to six months in jail after police stopped him for having a broken license-plate light on Main Street in Oxford.
Sidney C. Harford, 41, of 1432 Main St., pleaded guilty Thursday in Oxford County Superior Court to a charge of operating after revocation of his driving license.
He had been brought over from the Maine Correctional Center in Windham, where he is serving time until November 2005 for other offenses.
Harford was stopped at 2 a.m. Sept. 23, 2004, on Main Street in Oxford for having a plate light out, according to court documents. A record check showed he had been convicted of operating after revocation of April 25, 2001, in Androscoggin County Superior Court.
Harford has a long list of motor vehicle convictions, including several for operating under the influence, dating back to 1994.
Judge Ellen Gorman ordered that Harford serve his sentence concurrent with the Maine Correctional Center sentence.
