PARIS – A former employee of KBS Building Systems Inc. is suing the Route 26 modular home manufacturing company for breach of contract.
Mark Belanger of Naples, in a civil lawsuit filed Jan. 3 in Oxford County Superior Court, alleges that KBS failed to pay him $30,000 in commissions he earned while working as a salesman there. Belanger alleges that the company admitted owing the commission debt, then refused to pay.
The suit states that Belanger earned the commissions while working on two accounts – the Williams account, representing a six-phase project, and the KB Realty Trust account in Marshfield, Mass. KBS, through its attorney Susan Driscoll, has denied the charges in court documents. Driscoll could not be reached for comment.
KBS General Manager Ray Atkisson, who started in that position in November, said he was not familiar with the case and declined comment.
Belanger is suing for legal fees, interest and costs.
The 80,000-square-foot KBS Building Systems plant opened in the spring of 2003.
