FARMINGTON – Sophomore center Christina Mosher poured in 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Mt. Blue sailed to a 60-33 win over Medomak Valley in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Cougars (6-1) jumped out to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter and slowed ever so slightly through the final frame when the Panthers (2-4) managed to best Mt. Blue with a 10-9 quarter. Senior guard Amy Mansir tallied 17 points for the Cougars.
Senior forward Rachel Johnson led the Panther’s offense with 14 points.
Lewiston 57, Gardiner 40
GARDINER – Senior guard Kesley Varney shined with 19 points to lead Lewiston to a 57-40 victory over Gardiner in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
Senior forward Kim Bechard recorded 11 points for the Blue Devils (3-4), while senior guard Caitlyn Anthoine notched 10 points and four steals. Tracy Bradley hauled down 13 rebounds in the win.
The Tigers (3-3) were led by Allyce Pepin, who had 11 points.
Leavitt 51, Edw. Little 50
TURNER – Stephanie Healey scored 13 points as Leavitt edged Edward Little 51-50 in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
Sophomore forward Brittany Duncan recorded a double-double for the Hornets (2-5) with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Junior forward Bethany Burgess chipped in with 11 points, while Ashley Naylor and Paige Dyer hauled down 10 and 11 rebounds, respectively.
Sophomore guard Brittney French led all scorers with 25 points for the Red Eddies (1-6).
Rangeley 66, Richmond 30
RANGELEY – Senior center Krysteen Romero sparked the Rangeley offense with 23 points as the Lakers routed Richmond 66-30 in EWC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Lakers (7-0) received additional support from junior guards Nicole Crupi and Ashley Quimby, who had 12 and 10 points, respectively. Rangeley staked their claim early with a 19-1 start in the first quarter.
Sarah Coonradt led the Bobcats (2-7) with seven points.
Mt. View 70, Oak Hill 36
WALES — Amy Miles drained a game high 22 points as Mt. View rolled over Oak Hill 70-36 in girls’ varsity basketball action Tuesday.
The Mustangs also received 12 points from Tonya Jones, 11 points from Kelsey Richard and 12 more from Kristie Clemens in the blowout.
The Oak Hill (0-8) effort was anchored by Amber Chapman who put up 18 points.
