HALLOWELL – Matt Wheelock powered in 21 points to push Hall-Dale past Boothbay 55-51 Friday evening to remain undefeated at the midway point of the season.

Ben Laflin joined Wheelock in double figures for the Bull Dogs with 16 points. The teams were tied after the first frame, when Hall-Dale’s defense held Boothbay to six points, and allowing the Bull Dogs to take a 28-18 lead into the intermission.

The Seahawks cut the lead to six points at the end of the third frame and closed within four in fourth quarter, but that would prove to be as close as the Seahawks coule get. Boothbay (7-2) was led by Owen Johnson who had a game high 30 points, and Roy Arsenault with 12. Kriss Noonan who finished the game with nine points for Boothbay was the only other Seahawk to score.

Rangeley 60, Averill 34

RANGELEY – David Jensen poured in a game-high 22 points Thursday evening to pace the Rangeley boys’ squad to a 60-34 victory over Averill in a EWC basketball matchup. Justin Gallant chipped in for the Lakers (2-5) with 11 points, while Kent Madeira added nine.
