LEWISTON – Irvin Towle Ward Jr., 84, of 8 Lynn St., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, at his residence.

Born in Winthrop, Sept. 21, 1920, he was the son of Irvin T. and Grace M. Gallagher Ward.

After completing military service in the United States Army and Air Force, he was employed at E.E. Taylor in Freeport for many years, and later at Pioneer Plastics in Auburn for 15 years, before his retirement.

He enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing in Maine, and liked wildlife and the outdoors. Lately, he enjoyed Saturday bean suppers with family members. He always loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Ann Gupta of Concord, Mass., and Sharon Lee Bean of Auburn; his son, Kenneth Wayne Ward of Finksburg, Md.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Violet Irene Ritchie in 2003, and his son, Irvin Towle Ward III, in 1980.
