ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Mary Matilda Catherine McGee Allen, 72, formerly of Norway, died Monday, Jan. 10, in Ormond Beach, Fla., following a brief illness.
She was born in Placentia, New Foundland on Feb. 9, 1932, the daughter of Matilda (Nanny) and Patrick McGee.
Mary married Dale Allen Jr. on April 23, 1953. They moved to Norway to raise their family.
She will be missed by her beloved husband and best friend, Dale; daughters, Rose and her husband, Don, Anne and her husband, Brian Hodgman, Tammie and her husband, Rick Coffman, and Tina Springer and her partner, Ian Roberts; a son, Dale and his wife, Lisa Allen; 12 grandchildren, with another on the way; and four great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by friends and family in Newfoundland, Canada, and Maine, and the place she called home for the past 12 years, Astor, Fla.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Patrick; and a sister, Jane Gibbons.
