WISCASSET – The Women’s Business Center at Coastal Enterprises Inc. has created a series of workshops on developing a Web site for a business in which people can participate from a home or business computer.
Participants must commit to all four workshops, unless they have prior approval from the instructor. Each will be run from 1 to 4 p.m. The first is “Introduction to E-Commerce” on Jan. 18 at a cost of $10, about selling products and services on the Web. It will cover different types of Web sites and ways to assess whether a Web site is appropriate for a business.
The second class, “Planning Your Web site,” is Jan. 27, also for $10. It will cover software and Web site development tools, discuss how to develop content and consider how to work with a Web designer, if needed.
The third, “Marketing and Promoting Your Web site,” is Feb. 2. It will cost $20, and will cover getting a site listed on search engines, finding free links and using promotion tools to increase Web business activity.
The fourth one, “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Your Web site,” is Feb. 9, also for $20.
