TURNER – Senior guard Dan Berry scored the game-winner with 0.7 seconds remaining on a well-executed play following a time out at half court to lift Leavitt to a 53-51 victory over Cony in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Hornets (6-2) trailed 30-19 at the break, but reversed the momentum in the second half.

Matt Nash sparked Leavitt with eight rebounds and a 3-pointer.

The Hornets outpaced the Rams (4-3) in the fourth quarter with a 22-12 run.

Leavitt senior forward Brandon Powell recorded the game-high 22 points. Cony seniors Doug Joerss and Eric Lui notched 20 and 16 points, respectively, in the loss.

Buckfield 76, Forest Hills 69 OT

BUCKFIELD – Danny Hayes scored 24 points to lift Buckfield to a 76-69 overtime win over Forest Hills.

Hayes’ rebound of his own missed shot tied the score at 63-63 to send the game into the extra session.

In overtime, Jamie Henderson (13 points) made two steals to help seal the victory. Jared Martin added 17 points for the Bucks (6-5).

Forest Hills (3-6) was paced by Matt Achey’s 24 points and Luis Frawley’s 22 points and six 3-pointers.

Five of Frawley’s treys came in the third quarter.

Oxford Hills 81, Messalonskee 53

SOUTH PARIS – Senior guard Matt McDonnell blazed a trail with 25 points to lead Oxford Hills to an 81-53 victory over Messalonskee in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Vikings (5-1) came out firing with a 24-6 first period and led 50-21 at the half.

Senior forward Thomas Kothe nailed five 3-pointers for 15 points, while McDonnell notched four treys for Oxford Hills.

Junior guard Seth Stanhope paced the Eagles (4-3) with 18 points.
