AUBURN – Olive Belle Phipps, 92, a resident of Auburn, and former resident of Minot, Mechanic Falls, and South Portland, died Jan. 17 at Clover Living Center in Auburn, where she had been a patient.

She was born Dec. 15, 1912, in Quincy, Mass., the daughter of Clifford and Alice Mae (Jones) Clark. She attended Lawrence High School, graduating in 1929, and she then attended the Julliard School of Music in New York. She had been a piano teacher for many years.

In 1931, she married Arthur B. Penney and they had two sons, she then married Porteous Adelbert Harrington and they had two sons. After Mr. Harrington passed away, she married Joseph Phipps, who passed away in 1995.

She enjoyed playing the piano, and was a member of the Full Pentecostal Church in Auburn. She also played the organ at Lawrence Baptist Church and at Colby College.

She is survived by four sons, Charles Penney and his wife, Alicia, of Fairfield, Maurice Penney of Minot, Richard Harrington and his wife, Margaret, of Brochet, Manitoba, Canada, and Robert Harrington and his wife, Diane, of Minot; two sisters, Alice Carpenter of Brewer, and Margaret of Florida; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
