DAMARISCOTTA – Carola Bogdahn Randall passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta, after a short illness.

She was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Westbrook, a daughter of Caroline and Jens Bogdahn. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1931.

In January of 1931 she married Charles Randall. After living in Massachusetts, they relocated to Auburn, where they owned and operated-the Auburn Novelty Company until his untimely death in 1964. She later worked at Paine Incense, retiring at the age of 76.

She was devoted to her family and her interests included poetry, braiding rugs, doing crossword puzzles, and making quilts for each grandchild. She was an avid gardener who took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens.

She was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary in Auburn, the Young at Heart Seniors Group, and the First Auburn Senior Citizens.

She leaves behind son, William Randall and his wife, Janet, of Auburn, daughter, Marcia Stuart of Pembroke Pines, Fla., son, James Randall and his wife, Linda, of Winthrop, daughter, Lisabeth Dawson and her husband, William, of Bristol, son, David Randall and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; sisters, Irma Blake of Portland, Joanne Bridges and her husband, Arthur, of Standish, and Verna Franklin of Fort Ogden, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a brother, George Bogdahn; and a sister, Mariane Aaskov.
