LEWISTON – Jolyne Renee Karkos, 35, of Auburn, died Thursday, Jan. 20, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Born in Lewiston, July 8, 1969, a daughter of the late Phyllis Gadway-Smith and Richard Gadway Sr., and his wife, Rainie, of Sabattus.

She was a graduate of Lewiston High School, and Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion. Inspired by her mom, she started her own business, Shear Madness, a very successful and thriving hair salon. She received numerous awards as a hairstylist.

She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, since 1999. She was like an endless wave, a ray of sunshine, always a smile and a warm hug. She lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed bowling, going to NASCAR races, and going on family trips. She loved her work as a hairstylist, and all of her clients. Her husband and her two sons were her life. She touched so many hearts and will be sadly missed by all.

The loving wife of Ryan Karkos; and her two breaths of fresh air, her two sons, Brandon and Kyle Karkos whom she adored; Brandon’s girlfriend, Megan Cyr; two brothers, Richard Gadway Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Fairfield; Joseph Gadway and his wife, Tanya, of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; two stepsisters, Lauren Odiorne, Shannon Vishe and husband, Keno, of Lewiston; adopted mother, aunt Elaine and uncle Bob Poirier; and uncle Joe and aunt Patsy Laliberte of Lewiston.
